Family members found Nicholas Allen Smith Withrow, 42, and his wife Brittnee Yvonne Posey, 30, after getting texts that the two had been arguing on the 18300 block of Cabin Road in Triangle on Sunday, Jan. 14, Prince William County police said.
Investigators believe the argument escalated between Withrow and Posey, were husband and wife, and ended when Withrow shot Posey, and then himself, county police said.
A three-year-old girl was inside the home at the time and was unharmed. The child was released to the custody of family members.
A firearm was recovered at the scene.
